Community Caring Weekend

Community Caring Weekend (CCW) began in 2005 with a desire to serve our community. We also wanted to offer an opportunity for our church family to be part of a mission trip, without traveling to another country, and CCW was born!

It’s a weekend of service to our neighbors — whether it’s raking leaves, trimming bushes, cleaning out gardens, or other yard work!  But it’s more than that. It’s a time for the AWCC family to get out into our community, meet some of our neighbors, and help them out — without any expectation of anything in return. It’s a time to bless our neighbors. We do it because we love the Lord and it’s an opportunity to Bring Jesus to Life in our community.

CCW will look a little different this year because of the construction, but we still want to bless our neighbors. We hope to see you on Saturday, October 29, for a day of service to our community!

Mark your calendars and plan to come and be a part of this at-home
mission trip for the whole AWCC Family — Kids, Uth and Adults!

    Construction Update Week of January 23, 2012

    Lots of demolition has occurred in the basement! Walls have come down, and new walls have been framed. Electrical work continues to happen and the staff is getting settled in their new offices. Please do not use the back stairs. You can also start using the new restrooms next Sunday!

    Last year a few AWCC folks helped out at Mountair Christian Church on Thanksgiving Day. This church, which is about the same size as Applewood, feeds 400-500 folks a full sit-down turkey dinner. They could use some help again! Ways you can serve: Bring 1, 2, 3 pies for them to serve. They need 75 pies. …

    The concrete footers for all of the new foundations have been poured and the new foundation walls are underway.     Building Update July 10

    Construction has begun! The handicap ramp is removed. All the lumber from that is going to be repurposed ! The front sidewalk has been removed and progress is being made!  We anticipate having a handicap ramp next Sunday. For safety, please do not enter the construction zone!

    Our contract has been signed and in effect.  Phase I  construction will be underway late this week.
