Gary Walter is retiring as president of the Evangelical Covenant Church this year. He served as a pastor for many years, after which he was called as director of church planting. During this time he was instrumental in the formation and planting and support of Applewood Community Church.
The Covenant has invited us to honor Gary’s service through participation in the Strategic Initiative Fund, to be used to further mission and ministry growth of the ECC. It envisions 500 church plants and 100,000 new believers in the next 10 years, training and equipping leaders through the Center for World Christian Studies, continued investment in justice and social enterprise, and, among other ministries, broadened care and support of Covenant clergy.
Prayerfully consider making a gift or pledge to the Strategic Initiative Fund in Gary’s honor. Checks or pledges earmarked for the SIF may be placed in the donation boxes in church, or forwarded to Karen Snuffer. More information will be available in the next AWCC newsletter.
