Imagine…

… a place where people of all ages can grow and learn together about being a follower of Jesus Christ!

KidsCrossing at AWCCOn Sunday mornings at AWCC the kids begin the morning in worship with their parents and the AWCC family. On the 3rd Sunday of each month the kids have a special message during the service. Before the sermon all of the kids 6th grade and under head downstairs for a special time of learning about Jesus.

The AWCC mission is to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and that includes the kids! We have loving volunteers who help in the nursery and toddler room, the preschool class, the K-3rd grade, and 4th-6th grade classes. Our desire is to show God’s love while teaching the kids how to have a meaningful relationship with Him.

Each of our classes are currently using Group’s Hands-On curriculum, which teaches the way Jesus taught, using everyday objects to teach important truths. Rather than simply listening to a lesson, the kids interact in a meaningful way.

Arise: Isaiah 60:1 says “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines upon you.” Our Arise group is a special time for 4th-6th graders to meet together for service projects and learning, and sometimes just for fun! During this time we learn that serving God is not about a drudgery of doing actions with no purpose… rather we are able to give glory to our Lord and live a life that He has so lovingly prepared for us and wants for us. We can shine for Him with the joy that He has given us, a joy that is infectious and that others will see.

Arise events have included things like: the Golden Neighborhood Rehab Project, visiting a nursing home, making “Blessing Bags” for the homeless, Big Time Trampoline, and creating encouraging cards for our congregation.

At AWCC we LOVE kids! Our hope is to partner with parents and encourage families in their walk with the Lord. Our Children’s Ministry is committed to providing Jesus Christ’s example of love and acceptance to the children we minister to. Additionally, we are committed to Biblical teaching to help our children grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Finally, we are committed to evangelizing children, giving them the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and to encourage them to share their faith with their family, friends, and neighbors.
