Do you know the name Covenant Heights? It is the name of a camp in Estes Park that is owned and operated by the Midwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Simply put, it is our church camp! And, did you know that we have a special connection to the camp? Yep! It was founded in 1948 and the first camp manager and cook were Mikki’s grandparents, Vera’s parents, Oscar and Esther Erickson. You can read more about them and the camp’s history at http://www.covenantheights.org/#/about-us/history.
Covenant Heights has been significantly impacted by the recent Colorado flooding. Road damage and safety concerns have resulted in numerous group cancellations and a loss of revenue of about $100,000. As you know, the first Sunday of every month we designate as Benevolence Offering Sunday. Because of your faithful giving, AWCC is able to help many people each month with some very basic financial needs. Today the Benevolence Offering to Covenant Heights. I hope you will prayerfully consider a special gift to the camp. As usual, there will be Benevolence Offering envelopes near the offering boxes. You can put your gift in an envelope and drop it in the offering box. You can also mail a donation to Covenant Heights at 7400 Hwy 7, Estes Park, CO 80517. Please write “support” in the memo section of your check.
